106 Cameroonians and Counting

Both men were assigned the rank of rifleman - the most basic infantry position - and received only a brief period of training before being sent to the front. Both were dead within weeks of signing.

Since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine began, at least 106 Cameroonian citizens have been killed fighting for Russia, according to Ukraine's "I Want to Live" project. See the full list here.

A Safe Way Out

Ukraine's Defence Intelligence emphasises that for foreign nationals serving in Russia's armed forces, voluntary surrender remains the only realistic path to survival. Foreign nationals are encouraged to take that path. All contacts are treated confidentially.
