Suyash Mukut
Full name: Suyash Mukut
National ID: 9628865
Legal status: Sanctioned by the UK government on May 5, 2026. Accused in a human trafficking case registered by India's Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
What He Did
Mukut is a director of 24x7 RAS Overseas Foundation, a company registered in Delhi on January 20, 2023, according to The Quint, citing the Zauba Corp business database. Its website offered study-abroad services and career counselling for studying medicine in Russia. The Quint reported in March 2024 that the company's phone numbers were out of service, and that its emails to the company had gone unanswered.
The Quint also reports that the firm had sent more than 180 young people to Russia on student visas in the preceding months, and that the CBI was trying to trace them and to check how many had actually enrolled at colleges. Deccan Herald reports that Mukut is the son of Anita Mukut, a BJP representative on the Dhar municipal council in Madhya Pradesh. The Quint said it could not verify this independently.
The CBI Case
India's Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered a human trafficking case on March 6, 2024 against private visa consultancy firms and agents, and on March 7 searched 13 locations in Delhi, Thiruvananthapuram, Mumbai, Ambala, Chandigarh, Madurai and Chennai, according to The Tribune. The case is against firms and their directors, among them 24x7 RAS Overseas Foundation, of KG Marg, New Delhi, and its director Suyash Mukut. It said the network lured Indians through social media such as YouTube and through local agents with offers of highly paid jobs in Russia, then trained them for combat roles and deployed them at front bases in the war zone against their wishes.
UK Sanctions
The UK government added Mukut to its sanctions list on May 5, 2026, under the Global Irregular Migration and Trafficking in Persons Sanctions Regulations 2025 (UK Sanctions List reference GIM0058). The measures are an asset freeze, a director disqualification sanction and a travel ban. The UK's statement of reasons says:
The Secretary of State considers that there are reasonable grounds to suspect that Suyash MUKUT is an involved person under the Regulations as he is or has been involved in facilitating a relevant activity, namely trafficking in persons. Specifically, he engaged in the recruitment of Indian nationals using deception for the purposes of exploitation. Using social media and other forms of communication, he advertised the provision of student visas in Russia but, upon the recruits' arrival in Russia, they were forced to fight on the front line of Russia's war of aggression in Ukraine against their will.
Mukut has not been reported convicted. The CBI case was registered in 2024 and the articles we read do not report an arrest or court proceedings.
